In this episode Beth hosts a 1:1 coaching session with Claire Owen. For many years Claire thought of alcohol as a release, drinking 10 bottles of wine a week. She enjoyed a party lifestyle but felt trapped in a vicious cycle of drink-regret-repeat. After losing her friend to alcohol at the age of 52, Claire had a lightbulb moment and decided it was time to take action however she struggled with society’s portrayal of alcohol as synonymous with having fun. Having experienced for herself the benefits of being sober, Claire is optimistic in turning the tide of popular opinion – to dispel the idea that sober is boring, that we deserve alcohol as a treat & that we need it to cope with our busy lives. She now helps others to reframe their perception of alcohol & to help them to discover healthier alternatives.
Beth and Claire discuss the pain points in Claire’s business and where she feels most challenged, where Claire should seek media and PR opportunities, actionable changes Claire can make immediately, and a reminder that it’s important to celebrate the big and small wins!
